Multimedia Distance Learning
Multiplin is currently developing a range of materials for multimedia
distance learning (MDL) courses for Cranefield
College. The first MDL course was launched in 2007, and there are
now many students who are benefiting from this convenient and efficient
learning method. All existing and prospective courses are international
MDL courses, which are accordingly available to anyone with basic Internet
and email access (and the facility for DVD playback). For further information
about the existing MDL courses, please visit Cranefield
College.
The MDL approach allows the student to benefit from a variety of media,
with minimal setup requirements. The student is provided with a variety
of teaching materials, including DVDs. MDL courses
are designed to give the student maximum flexibility in choosing when,
where and how he or she wishes to learn. The assessment system for MDL
courses will also allow a student to submit examination assignments electronically
(where relevant), within a flexible period of time.
The MDL courses currently available are Project Management: Perspective,
Planning and Implementation (MDL Short Course: around 2 to 4 months), Essential
Project Management (MDL Fast-track course: 3 weeks), Professional English
(MDL Short Course: around 2 to 4 months), Essential Professional English (MDL
Fast-track course: 3 weeks), and Advanced Writing Skills (MDL Short Course:
around 3 months). Looking further towards the future, a number of integrative
continuing professional development (CPD) programmes in Law and Management,
Law and Psychology, and Law and Medicine, are set to be launched in September
2013.
