Introduction
Multiplin offers a number of services involving the interactions amongst
selected multiple disciplines. At the heart of all our activities lies
Holistic Multidisciplinary Management (HMM), which
includes the constant endeavour towards integrative multidisciplinary
development, and the improvement of interactive processes and results.
The Constant Role of HMM
Multiplin acknowledges that all ventures should be embarked on with holistic
multidisciplinary perspective. Whereas this is a concept to which mere
lip service is often paid, it is the mission of Multiplin to put this
fundamental principle into practice.
The HMM approach emphasises that there are numerous interactions between
a vast number of different disciplines, and that one should constantly
be aware of relevant interactions and make the most of them. In line with
HMM, it is of paramount importance to be constantly on the lookout for
the interactions of any disciplines involved in any particular venture,
always seeking opportunities for mutual development and enrichment, and
for maximising holistic effectiveness
and efficiency.
Strategy and Innovation
At the core of any Multiplin endeavour lies the development of strategy.
Everything that follows such strategy development will then be in line
with that strategy. Sound strategy is, however, inevitably sensitive to
changes of any nature, and must remain flexible and adaptable accordingly.
Nevertheless, the initial strategic direction adopted can make a tremendous
difference to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the venture.
The sooner the right strategy is adopted, the more efficiently the best
results will be able to be achieved. In most projects, this means inter
alia that fewer costs are incurred and less time is expended in achieving
the desired goals and objectives.
Strategy is a requirement in virtually any context: from individual coping
strategies in the context of difficult life circumstances, or small-scale
interpersonal strategies in private or commercial contexts, right through
to large-scale corporate strategy or Government policy
and strategy. Along with sound strategy, our interdisciplinary specialists
strongly value their orientation of striving to maintain fresh perspective,
being especially receptive to the possibility of constructive change,
and being constantly on the lookout for new approaches to dealing with
even the oldest matters. We dedicate ourselves to finding innovative solutions
to problems and to being open to generating or adopting new ideas and
bringing them to fruition.
Integrative Multidisciplinary Development
In accordance with the tenets of HMM, it is the mission of Multiplin not
only to apply sound strategy to achieve successful outcomes in specific
ventures, but also to advance multidisciplinary development and efficient
interdisciplinary collaboration in the areas involved in those ventures.
Therefore, not only do all our clients benefit, but the disciplines involved
are also inevitably enriched.
As part of this drive, our interdisciplinary specialists aim to promote
conceptual and terminological integration across disciplines, in all contexts
in which they are involved. Professional training and graduate education
can play a significant role in such promotion. Graduate
education and continuing professional development
(CPD) are contexts that especially provide opportunities for integrative
multidisciplinary development. Developing the interdisciplinary perspectives
of intradisciplinary specialists not only benefits them individually,
but also facilitates interactions between various specialists in practice,
benefiting everyone involved.
Synopsis of the Mission of Multiplin
To contribute to sound holistic strategy formulation in any venture in
which it is involved, whether it be in the context of private individuals,
organisations or Government.
To supply individual interdisciplinary specialists (specialising in the
integrative areas of focus reflected on our home page) or any combination
of these; the interdisciplinary specialist(s) will then bring in outsourced
intradisciplinary specialists if/as required.
To facilitate the coordination of the activities of specialists in multidisciplinary
projects, maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of their collaboration.
Speaking the same language, seeing common ground and promoting reciprocal
enrichment, are key.
To produce top-quality educational materials that contribute to integrative multidisciplinary
development (including the promotion of conceptual and terminological
integration across disciplines). In line with the aim of promoting such
development, these publications will be designed to be used in integrative
education.
To involve itself progressively more in education and training, developing the perspectives
of intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary specialists alike. This not
only has a positive impact on individual performance, but also facilitates
interactions between various specialists in practice.
